FAQs

Why is there a monthly fee for payment processing?
arrow-bottom

This is an admin fee charged each month for your merchant account provider’s services, such as customer support, tech support, portfolio management, etc. It also includes PCI Plus Data Breach Protection (or Safe-t).

What is PCI and is it mandatory?

arrow-bottom

The (PCI DSS) is an information security standard mandated by card brands. It applies to any organizations that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information.

It consists of 12 basic requirements grouped in 6 categories for establishing and maintaining a reliable and secure payment processing environment.

Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance is mandatory for every business that accepts credit and debit cards, and these businesses must follow PCI rules and regulations. Some processors run proactive programs  to help ensure PCI compliance is maintained.

What is Cost Plus/Interchange Plus pricing and why is it better?
arrow-bottom
arrow-bottom

Cost Plus/Interchange Plus  pricing is a model where you pay the interchange and assessment  fees plus a simple markup for the services of the payment processor.

The interchange fee is set by the card brand networks (Visa, Mastercard) and represents the base fee or wholesale cost of accepting electronic payments. This fee is what the acquirer pays to the issuer and the rate varies depending on the industry, the type of business, if the card is present or not present at the time of the transaction, etc.

The assessment fee is a small percentage that is paid to the card brands (Visa, Mastercard) on every transaction. It is a fixed transactional fee and the same amount is charged no matter the card type or industry.

By passing the cost directly to you and only charging for a single markup, interchange plus pricing gives you significant savings while creating a very transparent arrangement with your processor – you know our cost and margin.

How much are interchange rates/transaction fees?

arrow-bottom

Interchange fees can be different from one transaction to the next. They vary based on each card type, if the card used offers points and rewards, the industry, the type of business, and if the card is present or not present at the time of the transaction. There are hundreds of interchange categories based on these variations that range from 0.80 to 2.69%.

Here is where you can find Visa's fees and Mastercard's fees.

for a full breakdown. We can even do a cost comparison against your current payments provider to show you how much you could save by switching to ºÚÁϳԹÏ!
